The basics
A Schengen short-stay visa allows up to 90 days in any 180-day period across the Schengen Area, which includes France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, and Belgium.
Apply to the embassy of the country where you will spend the most nights. If the nights are equal, apply to the country you enter first. In Addis Ababa, many embassies use an appointment centre, so check the embassy's own website for the current process.
Timing
You can usually apply up to six months before travel, and no later than about 15 days before. Appointments in Addis Ababa fill up before the summer, so start two to three months ahead.
Do not pay for non-refundable tickets or hotels until you know what your embassy accepts as a reservation.
Documents that usually matter
A valid passport, the application form, photos, travel medical insurance covering at least €30,000, proof of where you will stay, a day-by-day itinerary, bank statements, and a letter from your employer or proof of business.
Each embassy publishes its own checklist. Follow that list exactly, because it changes.
How Vejtani helps
We build an itinerary that fits the visa rules: dates, cities, and hotels that agree with each other. We prepare the itinerary letter, hotel list, and trip summary for your file.
We do not issue visas, we do not sell appointments, and we never promise an approval. The embassy decides.
Questions travellers ask
How early should I apply for a Schengen visa from Ethiopia?
Two to three months before travel is safe. Applications are usually accepted up to six months ahead and at least 15 days before departure.
Which embassy do I apply to for a multi-country Europe tour?
The country where you spend the most nights. If the nights are equal, the country you enter first.
Can a travel agency guarantee my Schengen visa?
No. Only the embassy decides. Be careful with anyone who promises a visa. A good agency prepares a consistent itinerary and documents for your file.
